“Equipment as a Service is a business model that aims to provide users and companies with seamless access to capital goods, equipment or mobility (Mobility as a Service) via a single digital platform that integrates planning, booking, payment and information services. “Equipment as a Service has the potential to reduce dependence on owned machinery, vehicles and equipment, optimize the use of existing infrastructure and resources, reduce environmental impact and create new business opportunities and value propositions for providers of the relevant goods and stakeholders.
It is a promising model that can transform the future of production, procurement and financing of relevant goods. At the same time, it poses significant challenges for today's providers and financiers of these goods. The existing legacy IT systems are still barely able to map the corresponding customer journeys and the numerous new requirements along the entire value chain (from sales and contract management to refinancing).
